- Born: Before 1130.
- He was Franconian, but only very little is known about his life.
- Probably teacher in Paris.
- Refers to Bulgarus as Dominus as probably his teacher?
- Before 1179: Bishop of Assisi.
- After 1179: Bishop of Sorrent.
- Death: Before 1192.
Activities as Canonist
- Glossae in Decretum Gratiani.
- 1164: Wrote the Summa Decretorum.
- Status of his Summa: Three times bigger than the one of Magister Rolandus, distinct methodology (Distinctiones, Causae, Quaestiones) and influenced Stephen of Tournai, John of Faenza, Huguccio and other Summae (Summa Coloniensis, Parisiensis)
- 1174-1177: De bono pacis.
- Participation at the III. Lateran Council: Held the Opening Speech.
