Johannes Lapus Castilioneus
Biography
- member of the Castiglionchio family.
- studied in Bologna, first Philosophy, then Jurisprudence at Johannes Calderinus, Lapus Abbas and Johannes de Lignano.
- 1353: Doctorate
- 1367: Professor of Canon Law
- until 1378: Professor in Florence
- Legate to Avignon, Viterbo, Siena, Lucca, Genua and to Gregory XI (1377).
- escapes to the Monastery S.Croce after rumour that he wants to put the city under papal authority.
- banned, expropriated and sent into exile to Barcelona.
- 1379: Professor in Padua.
- Death: 27th June 1381.
