Guido de Baysio
Biography
- descendant of the noble Bolognese Baisi family.
- studied in Reggio or Moderna.
- Doctorate in Reggio.
- Chaplain of the Bishop of Parma.
- 1296: Archdeacon of the Cathedral in Bologna.
- 1298: Canon at the Cathedral in Bologna.
- 1301: Taught Canon Law (privatim), but with huge success so that he was made ordinary professor. Taught Johannes Andreae.
- 1304: Went to the papal court in Avignon.
- Was made Capellanus and Scriptor litterarum contradictoriarum.
- Death: probably between 5th June and 10th August 1313.
