Johannes Apel
Biography
- Born: 1486 in Nuremberg.
- studied jurisprudence and Humanism in Wittenberg, Leipzig and Erfurt.
- 01.06.1523: secret Marriage with an abducted nun followed by imprisonment.
- 1524: Professor for Jurisprudence in Wittenberg (with support of Martin Luther).
- 1530: Chancellor of Duke Albrecht in Königsberg.
- 1534: Return to Nuremberg.
- Death: 27.04.1536 in Nuremberg
Activities as Canonist
- Creation of a new methodology alongside the mos italicus
- Methodica dialectes ratio ad jurisprudentiam (1527)
- Isagoge (1540)
- Development of a Legal system divided into ius in re (dominium) and ius ad rem (obligatio)
